A+ SHOWER DOOR

During my tenure at the Kingsway Group I designed a new ligature-resistant SHOWER Door System to meet the NY state guide and Architecture+approval. It is designed to minimize the risk of loss of life while safely maintaining patient dignity in behavioral health bathrooms and en-suite rooms.
 

It delivers independently verified strength and ligature resistance for an effective solution to enhance and de-risk the care environment.
 

My role was the design of a - now patent pending - door leaf shape that builds off a novel and iterative series of experiments. The outcome of which was the clear definition of a mathematical relationship between the features of the leaf profile. This in turn reduces the ability/likelihood of a service user to cause self harm.
 

I also designed a new die cast top cap and conducted a PFMEA
study on the existing components to reduce and resolve a series of QC issues. I also developed B2B relationships with new suppliers in the US, China and Turkey and saw the concept through to full production, this new product directly led to a seven figure order in Q4 2024.
